Standalone "Problem Steps Recorder"
I was wondering if there is a standalone version of "Problem Steps Recorder" which can be used in Vista.

Hi Umut,I haven't come across a standalone version of the Problem System Recorder but, even if there was one, it is not saying it would work with Vista, even though Windows 7 is based on the Vista kernel. The requirements for Problem Step Recorder appear to be Client: Windows 7; Servers: Windows Server 2008 R2. There is no mention of Vista.John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;

CaptureWizPro has a 30 day free trial. MS only made a psr.exe version for 7.Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

Copied from here: http://sp.ntpcug.org/XPSIG/Lists/General%20Discussion/DispForm.aspx?ID=65&RootFolder=/XPSIG/Lists/General%20Discussion/How%20to%20run%20Problem%20Step%20Recorder%20on%20Windows%20XP%20or%20Vista Manyof us have seen impressive demos of the new Windows 7 Problem Step Recorder (PSR). PSR works like a camcorder to capture a user's mouse movements and keystrokes into a file that can be played back later for problem analysis. That will help support personnel to recreate problem situations. But what can people who run XP or Vista do? There's no built-in feature to do the PSR work, but there is a free download available on TechNet that does the same thing. Here is an article that shows how to use it:http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/screenrecorder-screen-capture-utility/ The tool itself is available from TechNet:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.03.utilityspotlight2.aspx?pr=blog You can install the tool on any XP or Vista PC. It requires the free .NET 3.5 Framework, also available from Microsoft.

Thanks for the great link but it still does not do what the PSR can do? Super Sad face! :(
